A 21st 100 years Journey into the heart of darkness "…It's Hell on Earth" a headline within the Seattle Times view this morning, quoting a U.N. worker on the ground in Haiti subsequent to the catastrophic 7.0 quake final Monday, which laid waste to the poorest place within the world. Equally apocalyptic headlines plaster every primary news source from print to the net this morning: "…It's the darkest day for Port-au-Prince," spoke about Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive in another article. One hundred thousand are presumed dead, as the count mounts body-by-body piled in mass graves by the literal truck-loads, while crude hospitals are set up in college yards. The wounded are lined up on make-shift beds of cardboard and blue tarp as two-by-fours splint broken limbs and I.V.'s dangle from tree branches like bird feeders. Survivors desperate for drinking h2o rip pipes from walls to siphon what little moisture remains in their galvanized veins. The headlines and images coming out of Haiti this week view like Cormac McCarthy's novel "The Road" and not Sunday morning news, as I sift through the heartbreaking headlines and sip my warm Starbucks decaf Americano with cream.Dance With Destiny is a feature-length documentary film by Bruce Weaver, due to be released later this year. Though the images from Haiti are devastating, they can be not surprising to Weaver. His passionate, if not painful first film is a journey into the heart of darkness that Weaver contends is the inevitable outcome of a planet out of balance and perilously close to a spot of no return, regarding to the films' panel of expert witnesses. The film is most a personal journey of one man's radical like regarding the earth, of indigenous peoples, of all things wild and unindustrialized, and an uncomfortable wake-up-call all at once. The horror playing out in Haiti this week is but a shrill "…cymbal crashing amidst a return story of global events playing like two of Beethoven's turbulent symphonies," as Weaver has said: recent tsunamis in Indonesia, the levy break in New Orleans, the polar caps melting like ice fresh cream on a sweltering summer day into an ocean presently being Hoovered of 90% of its species----- the largest mass extinction since "The Best Dying," 241 million years ago, when 96% of all marine life went extinct, along with 70% of terrestrial vertebrates. Conditions in Sudan make Dante's Inferno view virgin venture insurance prophecy and the routine rape regarding the Earth's precious rainforest bio-diversity closely resemble a psychotic serial rapist who holds their victim captive, and returns over and over repeatedly to satisfy an insatiable desire for more. Though none of these events return like a surprise to Weaver, provided all he has studied on the topic of Earth-Changes, and his travels regarding the globe, the heartbreak he feels is palpable throughout his film."…This is a best drama unfolding in front of our eyes, and it's of mythic proportions." -Dr. Peter Todd From the time Bruce was eight years old he has had a recurring dream, filled with images of atomic plumes rising above the Earth, the barren landscape below stripped of lime and blue and life (save a little unenviable survivors scavenging for food and water) something like reruns of Soylent Lime on late-night T.V. Disturbing images for anyone, let alone a young boy who had no business dreaming such dreams, instead, free to be follow his exuberant curiosity, undisturbed, that lured him like the Pied Piper for hours into the woods behind his rural Missouri home where he should be located skipping stones and turning them too, to marvel at nature's endless supply of mysteries. The natural world held Bruce captive and not Warm Wheels or G.I. Joes as with other boys his age.
Later in life, Bruce took the path that many young men without means do, of joining the Space Force at the earliest likely age sequential to explore the earth beyond rural Missouri and begin his initiation into manhood. As fate should have it, he located himself outfitted in full chemical-warfare gear, done with gas mask, doing drills below the close of darkness, loading nuclear war-heads on F-4 nuclear fighter jets, and B-52 bombers. It was then that Bruce's apocalyptic dream images transformed into a terrifying reality: personally hand-holding hundreds of nuclear warheads, positioning them to execute their unholy mission as if loading UPS packages onto a truck for holiday deliveries. He repeatedly asked to be released from this duty and fulfill his commitment to his place in electronics or computer technologies. Finally, an accident that nearly severed a finger and his repeated requests to be repositioned landed him an early discharge, below "honorable conditions." This function at twenty years of age profoundly altered the course of his life, and led him to the realization that person beings are engaged in a very real dance with destiny, increasingly divorced from and out-of-step with what should be an ongoing and intimate relationship together with the natural world."…The only real danger that exists is person himself. He is the best danger, and we are pitifully unaware of it. We have knowledge of nothing of man, distant too little. His psyche should be studied, due to the fact that we are the origin of all coming evil." - Carl Jung Were it not for these disturbing yet formative images and experiences subsequently dark and straight-up gloomy they were Bruce shall not have return to like so deeply for the Earth, nor should he have traveled the earth to eventually meet remarkable men and women who share this similar to passion and love. Others like Dr. Peter Todd or Father Thomas Berry, similarly compelled to preserve nature, habitats, indigenous peoples and sacred traditions to right injustices where the locate them, and regard The Wisdom of Nature as sacred. These meetings with like-minded Earth-stewards became the seeds regarding the film compelling him to tell a modern-day story regarding the Earth in peril, and release a voice to these other best minds, each warning of our collective destiny should we fail to heed these multiple warning signs. "…We've already hit the iceberg. We are the proverbial frog within the pail on the stove (boiled to death subsequent to failing to jump out due to the fact that the heat rose only incrementally). We are the flood, we are the asteroid. We had better learn how to be the ark". -Thomas Friedman Chapter One in Dance with Destiny, is titled "Prophesy": prophetic stories of indigenous peoples the world-over, foretelling the events of this day with an unsettling montage of images that take us directly into the broken heart regarding the filmmaker, for humans' disregard of nature: disturbing, in a word, but whether you have knowledge of the stomach for it, press on. The 2nd chapter, "Face of Darkness" is no fewer uncomfortable, as it urges us to look at the mirrored reflection of our own darkness, a compulsory first step for real change. The intellect is implicated here, as the seed of mans contempt for nature, numbing our pain to the violence perpetrated against the Earth, in fact encouraging us to celebrate mans victories over nature. In Chapter Three: "Sleepwalking into the Apocalypse," as Father Thomas Berry says so humbly, "…We thought we were creating a wonder world for our children," when in fact what we have created for our babies and grandchildren is a future perilously close to nuclear war, wide-spread h2o and food shortages, unprecedented loss of bio-diversity, and a burden of toxic waste products we are deferring to future generations. Chapter 4 audaciously proclaims, "its Too Late," where we meet the Mamos or Kogi elders who issue to us, "Younger Brother" an urgent warning, "…make a payment and ready your soul." If we make our method through this dark passage that leads us to chapter five, "Gaia's Return," we shall sense there, the presence of a tiny flame flickering in us; a flame that protects all that is wild and natural and sacred, until we return to the sixth and final chapter titled, "Hokahey!" The journey is a heroes journey; one that brings us full-circle to our true obligation as person beings, to live passionately, with dignity and nobility on the Earth, in triumphant celebration of The Wisdom of Nature. Single-handedly crafted, Dance With Destiny defines "guerilla filmmaking." Bruce Weaver is filmmaker, sound-man and editor. His journey took 3 years, and with his camera on his back, he traveled the globe from the Sierra Nevada mountains of Columbia where he met the Kogi elders, then dotted a path to the Himalayas and on into Southern India where he met the "madmen" of Bengal, the Bauls, whose primitive earth-center spiritual practices fueled his work with The Sacred. Your Spiritual Journey is a Gift
It's easy to ponder that we should do something, or skills development something, remarkable to hold a reason to share the story of our lives. We hold a method of believing that our ordinary lives are just that, ordinary. The price in reaching out is missed in our poor estimation of what we should offer. We wait for something large to happen to us prior to we recognize the importance of our journey. We do not acknowledge the special present we should share. It's the present of our ordinary lives shared with others. I joined a codependency help group. The people in my team are extraordinary. They are not, although, extraordinary by a worldly definition. None regarding the people at the table are famous, exceedingly wealthy or outrageously successful. They can be ordinary people living ordinary lives. I read from their lives. They live simply, and honorably, within the face of best adversity. In fact, adversity transforms them, creating them gentler, kinder and more forgiving. I admire their stamina and their confidence in God's procedure for their lives. Their journeys encourage me. For a while, I felt like I had no business receiving a spot at the table. I expected to have very little to offer, or receive from, the people sitting around me. Then, it started to happen. As stories were shared I began to connect with people. Some days I discovered that we had similar feelings. Other days I located myself working through similar challenge as someone to left or the right of me. Our lives began to intersect. Common threads connected their journeys to mine. Their stories filled my world with hope. I began to expect that I should have something to receive. Some days, when the meeting was over, people should thank me for possessing shared. My journey touched others and encouraged them. They located healing through my expression regarding the simple, ordinary experiences of my life. My stories filled their world with hope. I began to look that I not only had something to receive, I had something to offer.
I began to look that I desired to share my journey. I knew my story wasn't earth shattering or surprisingly unique. I knew it was an ordinary story about an ordinary life. I knew it had the standard ups, downs and in-betweens many like the lives of others. Yet, with all its ordinariness, I began to desire that my journey should be a gift. I have since prayed that my journey shall have common threads that connect the lives of others to mine. The god willing, my journey shall touch and encourage others. Maybe lives shall intersect and healing shall be located within the expression regarding the simple, ordinary experiences of my life? That should be a present for others and for me too. I'm sharing my spiritual journey due to the fact that I trust it is a present with value. I'm also receiving within the spiritual journeys around me. The journeys of others are encouraging my own spiritual growth and spiritual healing at this very time. We, the storytellers, are giving each other the present of our stories. We can change the globe with each retelling, due to the fact that each retelling is an opportunity to touch someone's life. Some component of our journey, large or small, can speak to those provided the opportunity to take it in. Perhaps you own an ordinary life that is little like mine? Maybe we should most share our journeys? Together we should reach out to even more people who should reach out as well. Imagine all the people who should realize that they can be not alone. Imagine all the people who should be touched, encouraged and healed through the simple truth that a shared journey is a present with value. I have begun sharing my journey with those that should like to receive it. I've provided my querty travels some friends, and I've also begun to make it available to strangers and casual friends. People are being touched. Strangers are hearing my story and finding that their life is not so different from mine. People I have knowledge of just little are reaching out due to the fact that they have discovered, through my story, that they can be not alone. I'm not doing anything special to make this all happen. In fact, I do not really make it happen at all. I just tell my story and The god does the rest. It's absolutely amazing. People are walking in your shoes and they do not even have knowledge of it. Tell them about that you own journey, and they will have knowledge of the truth that they can be not alone. You do not need to be someone extraordinary to release the present of your story. In fact, the journeys that change lives are many times the ones that say, "I've been where you are." An ordinary life has incredible power within the simple truth that it is very ordinary. Whether you own an ordinary life, you have got something valuable to share. Maybe you are intimidated by the plan of sharing your journey? I'll release you one piece of advice that helped me get over my own intimidation: trust God. He is large enough to connect your life to lives of others. If you are faithful to share your life, The god is ready, and very able, to honor your desire to reach out to others. He is within the business of touching lives. Let Him use your life to touch others. Tell your story.

Hero's Journey Screenplay Structure - The Wrestler (2008)
Again, this demonstrates that a successful screenplay cannot be written without a deep understanding of this structure.

Where are you? : A Meditation On Your Life Journey & purpose
Greetings! I am often asked by clients, colleagues and even colleagues "What is my life purpose?", "Where am I going?", "Where am I now?" and "What's next?". These are all questions that bring a huge smile to my heart due to the fact that I have knowledge of I am working with someone who cares about their journey and really wants to make sure they are doing the greatest they can. When questions like this arise for us, it's a good time to seek the guidance of a psychic adviser. I am always excited to obtain people connected to psychic guides that are just right for them, and this is a good time to make that happen- it's also a good time for us to connect to our own 'inner psychic' and receive some profound guidance from our own innate abilities. The more you work with meditations like these, the more you can grow to familiar with that you own psychic language- and it shall begin sounding more simple and loud in your daily life. Think about this psychic training within the real world! In addition to connecting clients with advisers- I also like to empower people to tap into their own intuitive abilities and receive spiritual revelation for themsevles. What follows is a powerful meditation that shall help answer the questions posted above- and help you see, in that you own symbolic language, where you are at and where you are headed! In teaching this meditation to my clients- its great how many times profound realizations have taken place. People have experienced direct warnings, dangers, blessings, encounters with Divinity and sacred mirrors in which to obtain a simple look at themselves. This practice seems so simple- and it is- but do not discredit it. The symbolism presented here is universal in scope and shall draw your subconscious, conscious, ego and heart onto a meditative journey of good wisdom! This meditation shall be used anytime you look lost, confused, not sure what is next in life, need guidance or just look 'stuck and stagnant'. Practicing this meditation prior to working with your psychic adviser shall reveal you up to a greater reading and shall release you some wonderful symbolism and realization to explore with your guide! As with all meditation practices I teach, please ensurer you have knowledge of a quiet, dimly lit, undisturbed, simple and relaxed space for one hour. Candles, incense, music, sacred iconography, etc. shall also be brought in- whatever gets you within the mood!
Getting ready for the meditation... Hold a nice long stretch and some deep breaths to obtain your body and life centers opened up and flowing well Sit or lie below comfortably (not so comfy you will fall asleep!). I suggest facing North in this meditation as north is the resonance quarter in my tradition for spirituality, guidance and Divine connection. Give a little moments 'rocking' or 'shaking' into your position. If there exists any components of your body that look uncomfortable, fix that now. Whether you decide to obtain serious about meditation- I suggest training you to sit, and investing in a meditation cushion (often called a Zafu). They can be available all over the net and help with posture, breath, alertness, life flow and comfortableness. Begin by gently calming the mind. Try to obtain at fewest 60 seconds of uninterrupted 'silence' in there prior to moving forward. The meditation... Without judgment or over-analyzing, call forth into your minds eye (creative visualization faculties) your life path to manifest to you. Let whatever manifests to manifest. A forest path? A sidewalk? Stairs? A jungle with no visible path to walk on? We are working with internal symbolism here- so be reveal to letting your inner-self manifest whatever 'scene' it does...even if it seems strange, it is YOUR soul language! Look around. Survey the scene, confirm out the landscape. Touch base with how you feel. Confirm the weather, colors, emotions, etc. Be as present there as you possibly can be. Look behind you, where did you just return from? Look ahead- where are you headed? Now returns the good part... this image- this space you can be in is as alive as you are.. indeed it is a symbolic reflection OF YOU! Due to the fact that it is alive, you can talk to it! This process is called internal dialogue, due to the fact that you can be possessing conversations between different grades of your being. Ask what you need to ask. Let us use, for example, "What is coming up next for me in my life journey... what do I need to look forward to?" Ask, stop, breathe, wait. Let you to basically observe what happens. The scene shall likely change, you will zoom in, zoom out, an unique symbol shall enter the picture, an unique sensation shall return over you, etc. Let this be, honor it and trust it. Ask any questions you have. Continue allowing them to manifest without judgment, fear or over-analyzing them. You can be seeing and experiencing this so it IS real! Once you can be done, gently thank the space and your path. Bless it. Gently exit your meditation by first moving your body slowly, then opening your eyes. Give a little moments just being- then get to work.... Now it's time to do not forget and ideally journal what you just experienced. Your logical mind is return in full awareness and now you can use it to decipher what you saw. A car- what does that mean to you? A horse? Again, what does that symbolism speak to YOU! Stay away from reading any dream interpretation books or symbolism books here. Own that you own powers and get in touch with that you own language such that it can strengthen and give you! Whether you get stuck or should like the blessings of another opinion, take your reveal heart and your journal and connect with your most liked psychic adviser! I ponder its important to not confuse 'obstacles' with 'crossroads'. If we did not have crossroads on our path, we'd just walk similar straight line forever and not ever get any excitement or growth opportunities. When crossroads return up- whether its an unique career path, the end of relationship, the healing of an illness or just a sense that its time to make some serious changes- begin your process with gratitude. Acknowledging the blessings in a crossroads skills development helps strengthen the blessing potential and minimize the obstacle potential. Change is hard- but anything fewer is, well, boring! With all the like within the universe, shall you be rightly guided and empowered to walk that you own unique journey- experiencing the bliss and growth of life and the joy that living is! Hero's Journey: From System to Story and Screenplay
Understanding this template is a priority for story or screenwriters.
The Hero's Journey:
· Attempts to tap into unconscious expectations the audience has regarding what a story is and how it should be told.
· Provides the writer more structural elements than basically 3 or 4 acts, plot points, mid spot and so on.
· Interpreted metaphorically, laterally and symbolically, allows an infinite many varied stories to be created.
The Hero's Journey shall also be a study of repeating patterns in successful stories and screenplays. It is compelling that screenwriters hold a higher probability of producing quality work when they mirror the recurring patterns located in successful screenplays.
Consider this:
o Titanic (1997) grossed over $600,000,000 - uses the Hero's Journey like a template.
o Star Wars (1977) grossed over $460,000,000 - uses the Hero's Journey like a template.
o Shrek 3 (2004) grossed over $436,000,000 - uses the Hero's Journey like a template.
o ET (1982) grossed over $434,000,000 - uses the Hero's Journey like a template.
o Spiderman (2002) grossed over $432,000,000 - uses the Hero's Journey like a template.
o Out of Africa (1985), Terms of Endearment (1983), Dances with Wolves (1990), Gladiator (2000) - All Academy Award Winners Greatest Film are based on the Hero's Journey.
o Anti-hero stories (Raging Bull (1980), Goodfellas (1990) etc) are all based on the Hero's Journey.
o Heroine's Journey stories (Million Dollar Baby (2004), Out of Africa (1980) etc) are all based on the Hero's Journey.
From Plan to Story and Screenplay
The core of every story is the Apotheosis: the insight, illumination or revelation that the hero undergoes. For example, in Raging Bull (1980), Jake La Motta learns that Joey (his brother) was sleeping with his Vickie (his wife).
Pre the Apotheosis is the Atonement with the Father: the confrontation with that that prevents the Apotheosis. Creating use of Raging Bull repeatedly (1980), Jake's apotheosis conclusions from his confrontation with Joey.
To convert an plan into a story and screenplay then, one wants the apotheosis and the atonement with the father. With that, the writer can build up to and beyond.
One effective method of progressing from plan to story, is to treat your plan as the Apotheosis and build around the Hero's Journey structure. For example:
a) In Casablanca (1942), Rick's insight is that whether you like someone, you sacrifice you for their happiness. That sacrifice can with selling your most prized fabric possessions (he sells his bar), allowing your like to retrieve happiness in another's arms (he ultimately allows Ilsa to be with Victor), physical suffering (it is likely that his ultimate actions shall look him to a concentration camp), leaving dear colleagues (he shall need to leave Sam behind) and forced exile from building and heart (he shall need to leave Casablanca). He learns this insight from most Ilsa and Victor, who are prepared to do similar for each other.
b) In Al Pacino Scarface (1983), Tony Montana's insight is that the rewards regarding the path he is chosen are not worth the spiritual cost he is paying, expressed with the words (in the restaurant scene): "is this it? Is that what it's all about Manny? Eating, drinking, f*cking, sucking," "no free rides in this world kid," "I lost my appetite," "is that what I worked for? With these hands?
